Up for auction is a Fairbanks & Cole ACME 5 string banjo.  It is in Very Good condition although 'modernized' with new frets,
5th string tuner, new head, tailpiece and bridge.  The serial number is 6456  - made in 1886.


The entire neck is approximately 17' long.  The head (the acutal white part) measures 10 7/8'.


The tuning peg for the shortest string has been replaced and is a bright white, while the top 4 tuning pegs appear to be original. The inlay in the neck closest to the head is missing some of the mother-of-pearl. These things should be visible in the pics-


Included with the banjo is a hard case.  The case is black and has been used very little.
