Antique 1914 Prewar Fairbanks Vega Tenor Banjo w/ Case

This is an old Fairbanks Vega Banjo. Serial #30576. This puts the making of this banjo at around 1914. Comes with a Vega case, whose tag is marked 'Columbus Ave., Boston.' Vega left the Columbus Ave. location in 1961, so the case is at least that old, and possibly much older.
I have been told this is a tenor banjo in Vega style N, with an original 5-string No-Knot tailpiece. The style N has the hooks that stand up over the rim. Please see all images for details of condition. I am a complete novice with regards to collectible banjos, so you will have to ask appropriate questions. I try to be very honest in my eBay dealings, and will be happy to look over the banjo if you have a specific concern.
Here are the features and flaws that my untrained eye can see: This looks like a solid old piece to me. Shows scuffing and the patina of age. Skin is dirty and has a couple small orange-red spots - looks like old spaghetti sauce. On the back where the maker's marks are is a rectangular inset area, where it seems as though an old tag (mother-of-pearl or ivory) should be. The tag is missing. On the left side of the neck of the banjo, someone has made black marks where the frets are, presumably to better pick the right notes. (Kids!) Bridge is stamped 'Grover.'
