CUSTOM 5 STRING BANJO NECK FITS GIBSON BANJO

Price : US $1,250.
This is a 2008 custom banjo neck built by Robin Smith of Heartland Banjo and Guitar in Hendersonville, Tennessee. The neck was fitted to a mid-30's one-piece flange style 3 Gibson banjo, and features old growth mahogany with a 10'' inch radiused rosewood fretboard, Flying Eagle inlays, Planet Tuners and ''Gibson'' script on the double-cut peghead. The neck measures 1 3/16'' wide at the nut, is shaped relatively slim from the top of the fretboard to the back of the neck - similar to a Stelling banjo neck - and has fifth string spikes at the 7th, 8th and 9th frets. The binding is rounded off at the top, making a very fast, comfortable and easy to play neck.
I had this neck on one of my banjos for about 3 months and it has been played very little. It is essentially brand new, with no fret wear and only a few very minor finish dings on the right side of the heel. These dings are only noticeable if you put the neck under bright light and look hard. I would rate the overall condition of this neck as excellent . The only reason I am selling is because the neck is a smidge to narrow for my personal taste. This is a beautiful neck, built by one of the premier and most respected luthiers in the business today. Rob Smith necks are played by many top professional banjo pickers, and the current waiting time for a custom order is running approximately 6 months. You will not be disappointed in this neck.
