For your consideration...


A late 60's Silvertone student banjo.  This was stored in a garage in NH since the mid 70's.  Just cleaned up, the resonator refinished and re-strung.  The banjo has a few issues but is in playable condition.


Note the picture of the back of the headstock.  The two lines running alongside the tuners are cracks in the wood.  The headstock seems stable.


When I found the banjo the sunburst finish on the resonator was badly damaged.  Note the last picture.  I removed all the old, peeling paint then lightly stained and clearcoated the resonator.


A previous owner put a couple of holes in the fingerboard, under the fifth string.  Likely from using a small screw as a capo/spike.  One of the holes just breaks the surface on the back side of the neck.


Case is original, but in rather rough shape.
