    1899 Fairbanks Electric No. 0 serial number 18741.  Original tuning pegs have been replaced with 20's Patent Planet tuners.  The fingerboard has been scooped beyond the fifteenth fret.  The inlays removed for the scoop have been saved and will be included.  Elite tailpiece, calfskin head and Grover bridge.  The action is 7/64'' at the twelfth fret. The scale is 27' and the head is 10-5/8''.
    When I bought this banjo I thought that the scooped fingerboard was somewhat of a violation of an old vintage classic instrument.  My intention was to restore it with the original inlays and frets but I found it too much fun to play with the scoop.  It is, of course still restorable with the included parts.
    This banjo will be shipped in a like new TKL arched lid case.
