Concertone Banjo Ukulele Uke 1920s Birds Eye Maple VG
This banjo is no longer for sale (sold on 2009-06-02)
Price : US $60.98
Vintage Banjo Ukulele from 1920s to early 1930s in very good condition. No nicks, dents or scrapes. Head has a hand painted mountain scene with some flakes and scratches but no worn strum area. Believed to have been painted in the Philippines. Bridge is missing. Could use some cleaning and polishing. I am almost certain the pegs need to be replaced. All other hardware is in place.
I bought new Martin Ukulele strings but decided not to try to re-string since I have no idea how to do that. Strings are included.
Fingerboard appears to be rosewood and has 15 frets, first at 1-inch, 8 1/2 inches long with six diamond shaped insets. The neck is birds eye maple.
Banjo is open backed. Outside diameter of the bottom round is 6 3/4 inches , 1/2 inch thick and 2 1/4 inches deep. Tension hoop is 1/4 inch wide metal (brass?). There are twelve backet hooks. It has a Waverly tailpiece.
This has been in the family since new and has been stored in a cool dry place for the last 50 plus years.
All auction items are sold as is without warranty, return or refund so please ask questions and bid accordingly. Thanks for looking.
