Kulesh Flat Top Banjo Tone Ring and a 3 ply maple rim
This banjo is no longer for sale (sold on 2009-06-02)
Price : US $231.50
Up for auction is an early Richard Kulesh 20 hole Flat top tone ring and a 3-ply maple wood rim. I acquired this tone ring from the late Richard Kulesh Sr. several years ago and do not have any use for it. It is marked Gibson and also has the AP stamp on the bottom side of the tone ring. The AP means Anti-Friction Products. The tone ring has some rough areas on the inside of the skirt from the sand casting (see pictures). The rough areas were not machined out. It appears that the tone ring was on a banjo as there is a dirt line all the way around the tone ring where the banjo head would have been. Also included in this auction is a 3 ply maple rim, machined for a one-piece type flange (flange not included). The rim has not been final sanded and no coordinator rod holes have been drilled in the rim. The rim is not Gibson, was not made by Gibson and is not stamped Gibson. The Kulesh tone-ring has an easy fit to the maple rim. The tone ring can be taken off the rim without a jackhammer. This stuff would be really cool gift to give Dad for Fathers day (forget the crummy tie this year, get Dad a good tone ring). Be sure to check my other auctions for more great banjo stuff.
Please ask any questions before bidding, as all sales are final.
