Up for auction is a nearly new Morgan Monroe Everest Banjo that has been played only a few hours since it was purchased new. I purchased this banjo when I was getting into bluegrass banjo styles, then switched to clawhammer, leaving this banjo alone for a year. It is in mint condition, with no signs of wear and has had railroad spikes installed at the 7th, 9th, and 10th frets. The railroad spikes were professionally installed by first quality music (who I purchased the banjo from). If you haven't seen the Everest Banjo in person, it is quite a sight with all gold plated hardware, and very ornate mother of pearl and abalone inlays on the on the neck and resonator. To top it off this banjo sounds amazing, with its heavy bell brass tone ring, and an amazing flamed maple neck. I was going to keep this one around in case I decided to take up bluegrass banjo playing again, but my recent layoff has left me with no other choice. It comes with a musician's friend durafoam case, which is by far superior functioning than its original gold tone case. The resonator inlays are absolutely amazing!
