Vega Little Wonder 5 Str Conversion Wyatt Fawley Neck
This banjo is no longer for sale (sold on 2009-12-09)
Price : US $660.00
Up for auction is a vintage Vega Little Wonder 5 string conversion banjo with a maple neck made by Wyatt Fawley - luthier to the gods. The neck is Wyatt's copy of a neck from a Fairbanks ''Special''. It has geometric and dot MOP inlays. It has been french polished to a lovely sheen and fitted to the pot by the Banjo Doctor - John Dura. The serial number of the pot is 85838, which dates it to c. 1929. The rim size is 10 and 15/16'', the scale length is 26 inches. All the hardware is original (including a Vega armrest) with the exception of the neck brace and the reproduction No-Knot tailpiece. It is fitted with new Five-Star planetary tuners in the peghead, with a Schaller mechanical 5th string tuner. The action is low and it has an Elite fiberskyn head. The sound and tone of this banjo are quite exceptional, open and clear, with great projection.
Domestic shipping to the lower 48 is estimated to be $60 because of it's size, weight and value, including insurance, via UPS. Shipping to England via Express Mail is approximately $120 (US). Because of new postal size regulations, it is not possible to mail this to Australia and several other countries, so shipping would have to be by UPS at actual cost, which could be as high as $300 - $350 (US).
The starting price of this banjo is set below the cost to me of the components. There is no reserve. I accept credit
