Every player hears astoundig tone from this lightweight pro banjo. Almost 4 lbs lighter, it's unbelievable volume comes from an intregral 3-ply rock maple lathed tone rim. The top third of the rim is carved exactly like a flat top ring resulting in a very authentic bluegrass tone. All other OB-250 specs apply. Give your shoulder a rest in long jam sessions! The OB-250LW is a lightweight knockout for hardcoare bluegrass music! A classic reproduction of the most famous flathead bluegrass banjo with astonishing tone and playability. Gold Tone has even added extra features such as an ebony fingerboard, maple neck (instead of softer mahogany), and a flamed maple resonator. The pot construction uses a sand cast brass tone ring fitted properly to a 3 ply rock maple lathed tone rim with a one piece pot metal flange.
