Mitch's Tone Ring Mate for Gibson Prewar Archtop Conv
This banjo is no longer for sale (sold on 2010-08-02)
Price : US $250.00
Up for auction is a Mitch's Tone Ring Mate which converts an archtop to a flathead.
I am ONLY selling this because I no longer have any archtop banjos. I had one of these in both my Gibson 1927 no-hole archtop and a 1929 TB3 Converted. They really make a huge difference in better lows and up the neck responses..
The first one that I used it in was the 1927 mahogany no-hole (the fellow still has it in it down in Tennessee). I also let Curtis McPeake listen to this banjo when I visited him a couple of summers ago. His exact words was: ''this banjo sounds like a flathead.''
This is the newer type in which Mitch serrated the ring in order to approach the original flathead weight when combined with the archtop ring.
I had this one in my 1929 and took it out because the buyer wanted an archtop sound.
Let me know if you have any question.
