5 String Banjo Stewart Macdonald Eagle
This banjo is no longer for sale (sold on 2011-06-12)
Price : US $325.03
This is a Stewart MacDonald Eagle I put together about 1974. It has a 5th string capo, mahogany neck, ebony finger board, laminated maple shell, bell brass flat top tone ring, bell brass bracket ring, waverly tailpiece, and mahogany resonator (back). The ivory nut and ivroid bindings have taken on a wonderful patena over the years. The tone of this banjo will hold its own among those that cost $1,000 .
I am selling because I have not taken it out of its case for years and have just lost interest .
I will include a new elite simulated hide head. Thease give a slightly more traditional tone than the 5Star head that is installed. Also a cople of how to play the banjo books.
Shipping : I would recomend that you let me ship this in 2 seperate packages. One for the pot and one for the neck. The case I have is just the cardboard variety and banjos are quite frail at the neck joint. The banjo pot is about 13 lbs. and the neck can be easaly damaged in shipping. Banjos are quiet easy to set up and basic instructions can be found in a Melodic Banjo book that will be included.
