WHAT IS IT?





This tenor banjo was built by
Stromberg-Voisinet (later Kay) around c.1930, and is one of their
deluxe, fancy models for the time. It is entirely original save for a
new bridge and new Remo Renaissance head. It features a long scale, 10
7/8'' diamter rim with steel hoop-style tonering and semi-archtop
construction (hoop ring plus raised wooden ring). Tone is just about
what you want from a tenor like this -- chirpy, punchy, loud, but also
precise and with a good tight bottom end. Great chord machine!



What else does it have? TONS of sweet deco looks -- it's wrapped in
several shades of pearloid all over -- grey pearloid on the headstock
back and front and also the resonator and cream pearloid down the
fretboard and on the side of the rim. It's also bound on the sides of
the neck and both the top and bottom of the resonator edges. There's
lightly engraved/colored fret markers and a gold ''Serenader'' script on
the headstock. Did I mention the headstock shape is WILD and the heel
