Beautiful, Unique and Rare 1920's 5-String Hughes Banjo. This is a beautiful Banjo. The pictures don't do it justice. All hardware appears to be original. All brackets are correct. Three adjustments on the tail piece (Kerschner - Unique, Lyon and Healy, Makers, Chicago, USA). Patented 5-01.

The banjo neck has fancy engraved pearl inlays in the fingerboard and peghead and a carving on the heel. The metal rim is nickel plated and highly engraved with a floral pattern. The long Kerschner tailpiece is also engraved. The rim cap and dowel stick are covered with choice abalone. This banjo was appraised on April 19, 2004 of a market value of $4500.00. The appraisal letter will be sent with banjo.
